It’s not the most impressive branded slot, but I still thoroughly enjoyed The Goonies Jackpot King. The symbol designs, backdrop, and even bonus features all borrow from the source material. It’s a proper love letter to the fans, only rivalled by a few games like Peaky Blinders by Pragmatic Play.

Movie fans will immediately recognise the familiar map in the backdrop. It and the few coins around the reels help immerse you into the setting. You feel like a part of the crew, that you’ve been invited to tag along in chasing down Wiley’s prized treasure.

Lower-value icons are the only areas where the pokie doesn’t knock it out of the park. In a sea of pirate flags, skeletons, and priceless treasure, basic playing card royals just don’t cut it. It’s a shame because the rest of this title exceeded all our expectations.
