Millionaire Rush is the slot game you play if you are scared of getting bored. The many extra features, the expanding grid, the bonuses, the Megatrail… everything is made to keep you hooked on the game, and you will not fall into a repetitive routine while playing it.
The cool things are the nods to the TV show. When you start playing, you are in the mythical studio, with lighting effects and the familiar soundtrack playing in the background. Those details will put you in a familiar atmosphere, and it is not overly used, which avoids an annoying, overwhelming feeling.
As a cluster paying slot, you have to score a win with at least five matching symbols placed next to each other on a horizontal or vertical line. The normal pay will give you 0.5x to 1x the bet for gem-like tokens, and it goes up to 30x-50x the bet for clusters of at least 25 symbols. The final symbol, though, is “W”, and it substitutes for any regular pay symbol.
Big Time Gaming’s reputation is already quite established in the business and they do not need to prove their expertise anymore. However, with Millionaire Rush, they decided to walk the extra mile and brought freshness thanks to a few changes that really stand out.
It was not the safest bet, given that Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? inspired so many developers to create casino games based on the successful TV show. It could have been yet another concept of the Millionaire theme that would not bring anything new to the table. But BTG applied the “go big or go home” mentality when working on this cluster-paying slot, to fans’ great relief!
The Megatrail has 12 rungs with random modifiers: a random cash prize for the top rung, 3 free spins for the 7th rung, etc. How do you move up the Megatrail? By getting reactions that trigger modifiers. It’s as simple as that!
Yes. You read that right. Every 7th rung of the Megatrail (in the base game) you get 6 free spins. These are essentially better versions of the Megatrail, and the top bonus prize is twice as significant as in the base game (2,000x versus 1,000x in the base game!). Additionally, 6 modifiers are added, and reaching the 7th rung grants you an extra 3 free spins.
Every time you win, each winning symbol turns into four smaller random symbols. They get removed from the reels when they create a win and get replaced. In total, you can have up to 100 symbols on the board. This feature really increases the chances of winning. And guess what, I love that!
BTG did not disappoint with this new slot game. The theme is well respected but not overused. Even though the sound and visual effects add a nice touch to the “Rush” side of the game, its playability and the adrenaline you’ll feel while playing, the game would still be quite solid without the branding.
The main “plus” definitely comes from the new mechanics thanks to the Megatrail feature. It works just fine with the concept of the slot, and it gives a good rhythm to the game, which improves the player’s experience considerably.
Finally, the winning potential is quite high, with 55,060x the bet in the bonus round. In the base game, you will not get as much, but you can still expect an interesting 33,050x the bet.
All in all, if you are a fan of the show, this grid slot will hit the spot. If you are not, I am pretty confident you will still like it a lot, thanks to the catchy gameplay and the attractive payouts.
