A Player’s Review of Break da Bank Again

Money-themed slots have always been a safe bet, and this long-running series from Games Global demonstrated this fact. It is natural for a 15-year-old release not to have striking visuals or an exceptional soundtrack, but the presentation is quite decent. The features are engaging, and the payouts can be hefty, although I had no luck to grab them.

The atmosphere resembles classic yesteryear pokies without modern games’ cinematic value. However, if you are into the theme, it should be your cup of tea, regardless of the release date. This game has a lot to offer despite some limitations.

Picking the Lock

The medium variance implies solid payouts at decent intervals. I have had some good rounds, but streaks of dead spins were between them. Even though it gave me no easy money, Break da Bank Again delivered a thoroughly entertaining experience.

It was a straightforward game with a lot of fun and a few exciting features. It might not be the most memorable title nowadays, but it is one of the reasons the series has remained popular for years. After my test run, I can only say it has not lost its mojo yet.

I have to make a few complaints, though, starting from the low RTP and a pretty uneventful base game. The audio-visual presentation could have been better, but it is not a drawback for such an old game. Occasional streaks of dead spins sometimes dull the game’s sting.

Don’t Touch the Loot

The action takes place on a 5×3 playing area across 9 paylines, with 3 to 5 matching symbols bringing wins. Medium variance reduced the number of chills and thrills, but it was pretty thrilling, nevertheless. While I landed solid wins, no life-changing payouts ever occurred.

A purple gem is the most lucrative symbol in the paytable, awarding 166.67x the stake for 5 on a payline. A stack of gold bars will pay you 111.11x, while a wad of money is worth 83.33x. A pen grants 55.55x the bet, while coins award 22.22x the stake.

Moreover, Logo Wilds grant 833.33x the stake for 5, replacing regular symbols in winning combinations, while Scatters activate free spins. The latter also pays 2x the bet when 2 hit the grid.

You can get the ball rolling with only $0.09, while the highest potential bet is $45, making the game tailored for moderate players. The official website says the maximum exposure is $195,000, and the biggest win you can hope for is 4,388x the stake.

Features in Break da Bank Again

The most exciting things in the game happen during the Free Spins round, but the game also includes the Gamble feature. Multipliers provided many pleasant surprises during my good run.

Free Spins

If you land 3 to 5 Scatters, you will receive 15, 20 or 25 free spins. I got 20 spins, and the round gave me the most handsome wins of all. I was stoked to see all wins multiplied by 5 in the bonus round.

Furthermore, the base game wins where Wild symbols participate come with a 5x multiplier. During the bonus round, they are multiplied by 25. I have managed to land one of them and grab a hefty amount, but this game did not bring me payouts that would turn my life around.

Gamble

After every win, you can activate the Gamble feature and spice things up. I managed to double it a few times by guessing the colour of the next drawn card. I had no luck quadrupling it, though, for suits are obviously not my forte.

My Recap of Break da Bank Again

When rating a 15-year-old game, its age has to be taken into account. Break da Bank Again has many good ingredients. It looks nice, it has simple gameplay and some engaging features.

The Free Spins round offers many thrilling possibilities, with Wilds and the Gamble feature spicing things up. This franchise became popular for a reason, and this game does not take anything away from it.

Still, I have to say the game has multiple limitations, starting from the low RTP value and the occasionally dull base game.

If you want a more thrilling heist-themed slot, you should look elsewhere. I had a magnificent time playing The Slotfather: Book of Wins – Hold & Win, so check it out.

Break da Bank Again is good but ultimately forgettable. Therefore, I rate it 6.9.
