AvatarUX taps into Romanian market

Malta-based AvatarUX Studios, famed for its trademark PopWins pokie mechanic, has been granted a Class II Romanian license by the country’s top regulatory body, the National Gaming Office (ONJN).

The license will see AvatarUX cutting-edge pokies, such as CherryPop Deluxe, PopNoir, and Depths of Fortune, appear in Romania for the first time.

AvatarUX European expansion

This is a major milestone for a game studio that’s less than six years old. It signals the company’s unrelenting strategic goal of expanding into the European market, having previously clinched a B2B Swedish license and distribution deals with Digitain, BlueOcean, and Light & Wonder. The portfolio of AvatarUX games in Romania will be rolled out gradually, giving operators and players enough time to fall in love with each of the studio’s engaging gameplay mechanics.

Especially appetizing is the PopWins mechanics, where symbols pop’ to produce two new icons and create endless possibilities for streaked winnings. The mechanics won them significant recognition, including the CasinoBeats’ 2023 Game Mechanic of the Year award.

Three new games coming out in May
