SiGMA, the organizer behind one of the online gaming industry’s flagship events, has announced an important conference venue change starting in 2025.
Next year, the main European event, known as SiGMA Central Europe, will be held in Milan, Italy, for the first time. Moreover, the new home for the prestigious event will permanently move to Fiera Milano, one of Europe’s largest expo venues.
SiGMA Central Europe is scheduled to take place from 23 to 26 November 2025, marking the flagship conference venue change from Malta to Milan. According to available information, more than 30,000 delegates will attend the conference, making it the largest event ever to be organized by SiGMA.
The move perfectly illustrates SiGMA’s growth, commitment to the sector, and ambition to remain one of the leaders of the iGaming industry.
The number of SiGMA delegates has been constantly growing, from a modest 1,500 in 2014 to this year’s estimate of 27,000. These figures show that the event is evolving to adapt to the rapidly changing landscape of online gaming.
Fiera Milano is the perfect choice to host the next year’s SiGMA Central Europe. As the event continues to attract more attention, the leading European expo venue will be able to meet its needs and handle tens of thousands of delegates. It’s more than suitable to provide enough room for exhibitors, seminars, and other events.
Accessibility was one of the main factors in choosing Milan as the home of this SiGMA event. The city represents the perfect location for visitors, as it boasts a well-connected infrastructure with three international airports. The public transportation system, multiple metro lines, and a network of buses and trams ensure that all the delegates can easily move around the city.
However, the relocation of the main event to Milan doesn’t mean that SiGMA is giving up its Malta presence. From 1 to 4 September 2025, Malta will host SiGMA EuroMed, an event scheduled to take place in the country’s capital, Valetta.
SiGMA EuroMed will keep the close connection Malta and the entire region has with the online gaming industry. It’s expected that around 20,000 delegates will take part in the event, which will offer a more intimate atmosphere compared to the conference in Milan.
Scaling up the main event is an exciting development for SiGMA, although the continued focus on Malta can be viewed as a mixed blessing. The relocation to Milan provides a new dynamic, but the retention of an event in Malta will still be impacted by traffic problems.
We understand that SiGMA wanted to honour its roots, but splitting the flagship event in two won’t address the issues that have troubled SiGMA for years. Perhaps it’s better to wait for next year to see how things will develop before making any kind of judgement.
