A Player’s Review of Joker Stoker

When talking about the visuals, they are quite simple. The reels are set on a pastel background. Beneath the reels, you will feel a bit of fire, simply to keep you warm as you play the game.

The soundtrack is very engaging so that you don’t fall asleep during game time. The Endorphina title appears as a pokie that can be found in every land-based casino. Joker Poker includes all the classic icons that populate the reels of almost all one-armed bandits across the globe.

Traditional Symbols Populate the Reels

Those of you who had the pleasure of playing classic fruit machines will recognize all of the symbols populating the reels. Two lucky sevens lead the group of high-paying icons, followed by the bell and the bar symbol. As for fruit symbols, they will make your mouth water.

Watermelons, strawberries, lemons, oranges, plums, and cherries will make a delicious fruit salad. The fiery joker assumes the role of Wild that substitutes for all regular icons. Scatter is there to trigger free spins.

Rules of the Game

Joker Stoker benefits from 5 reels, 4 rows, and 40 fixed paylines. It pays left to right, starting from the far-left reel, with 3 of a kind being the minimum for landing payouts. When it comes to betting, you can wager between $0.40 and $140 per spin.

The Endorphina product is of medium volatility and has an RTP of 96.07%, just above the desired average. Joker is the top-paying symbol, offering 50x the bet for 5-of-a-kind. The most you can pocket per single spin is 2,000x the bet.

Features in Joker Stoker

Even though Joker Stoker is a classic fruit machine in its essence, it offers a decent number of additional features you can benefit from. First, you have Stacked Wilds that appear both in the base game and during free spins. Next, there is the gamble feature, available after every winning spin.

Up to 30 free spins can be triggered at once, with the possibility of obtaining more free rounds during the feature. Finally, there is the Bonus Pop option, which is used when you want to buy free spins.

Stacked Wilds

Joker Wilds appear on every reel and can appear in stacks in the base game. This will help you land more wins. Stacked Wilds helped me to pocket 100x the bet in the base game, which was one of my biggest base game wins ever in classic fruit machines.

Free Spins

Land 3, 4, or 5 Scatters to trigger 10, 20, or 30 free spins, respectively. You can retrigger the feature at any time and get plenty more free games. During free spins, you get loads of Stacked Wilds. I had so much fun with this feature, even though it took me some time to trigger it.

The best round got me 20 initial free spins and 10 extra free spins. My total biggest win was $341.20 on a $1 bet. While I tested the game, I managed to trigger free spins four times in total. Not so bad, eh?

Gamble

The Gamble feature, or Risk Game, is available after every winning spin. You play against the dealer, who reveals one of the hidden cards. Your task is to pick a card that will be higher than theirs. If you succeed, you’ll double your win.

I use this option only when the initial win is smaller than the bet. Usually, I go for 2 or 3 rounds. It is possible to repeat the process up to 10 times in a row, but it is not likely to beat the dealer every time.

Bonus Pop

If you are not prepared to wait for Scatters to land and trigger free spins, you can use the Bonus Pop feature. It offers 3 different options, each with a different price. You can buy either 10, 20, or 30 free spins for 55x, 114x, or 164x the bet, respectively.

I am not a fan of these options. I firmly believe that they are only there to get our money faster than usual. I rarely win more than I invest and always end the round disappointed. That was the case with Joker Stoker, too. I paid 114x the bet for 20 free spins and won 100x the bet in the end.

My Recap of Joker Stoker

Joker Stoker is intended for players who like to kick it old school and enjoy traditional pokies. I am not one of them, so the 2021 release did not impress me. It appears as a slightly improved version of Play’n Go’s Fire Joker.

However, I did have fun with free spins and Stacked Wilds. The Endorphina title might be interesting to players who love simpler pokies with a bit of action and more than enough opportunities for decent wins. I rate Joker Stoker 7.1.

Pros

  • imgFree spins with Stacked Wilds
  • imgStacked Wilds in base game
