Playtech agrees deal with MGM Resorts

MGM Resorts has joined forces with Playtech for a live casino offering, streaming from Bellagio and MGM Grand properties in Las Vegas. The MGM live games assortment includes baccarat and single-zero and double-zero roulette and will be available to non-US operators.

Both companies’ officials agree this collaboration will provide unmatched gaming experiences, fitting their strategic visions. Playtech has plans to expand MGM live, bringing even more excitement to the table. In addition, the officials agree that delivering that exciting Las Vegas feeling to the players is always something to go for.

New chapter in immersive entertainment

Everyone involved expressed satisfaction at the new deal between the companies. Shimon Akad, Playtech’s COO, says the UK and Mexico are the target jurisdictions, while the other regulated markets will follow. He adds that the company will also review the viability of this offering in the US in accordance with the regulation.

According to Akad, the Las Vegas experience has always been incomparable when it comes to the iGaming industry. It is an opportunity for customers to experience the immersive entertainment these games offer. He also notes that customers in regulated markets will get the chance to experience authentic Vegas sounds and visuals.

Only the beginning

Playtech plans to spice up the collaboration by granting exclusive access to numerous games, including branded TV game shows and other unique Las Vegas experiences.

Shimon Akad says Playtech is currently creating one of the most popular TV shows combined with the allure of live celebrity hosts. He notes his company is proud to have been chosen as a technology partner to MGM Resort. Akad adds that the companies’ mutual understanding and vision for developing and distributing original, top-notch entertainment products and experiences in the online iGaming realm.

Furthermore, MGM Resorts’ officials underline the uniqueness of the gaming experience delivered to the players. Bill Hornbuckle, its chief executive, says the combination of celebrity talent and high-quality content will be unrivalled in the industry. He notes that the Las Vegas collaboration between Bellagio and MGM Grand continues their strategic vision of delivering the world’s premier gaming entertainment company.

Hornbuckle notes that MGM looks to create an omnichannel ecosystem and has grand ambitions in Europe and beyond. The company acquired LeoVegas and launched BetMGM in the UK, wanting stable market growth without a land-based presence. The plans to tie brick-and-mortar and online opportunities together still stand. MGM has only begun to realise its ambitions outside the US.
