Tombstone: No Mercy Pokie Reviewed

If you had the pleasure of spinning the reels of the original Tombstone pokie, I do not have to take you on a tiki tour of the 2024 release. The reels are set at the same saloon entrance. The soundtrack is also completely the same.

I reckon that the same criminals are sitting inside, sipping their usual drinks, waiting for trouble. You should become a member of their gang if you want to keep your money and your head. Of course, I am joking about the part that concerns your head.

Bandits Act as Wilds

Even though they are wanted criminals, El Gordo, Edda Star, and Skinny Joe keep hanging out in their usual saloon. The 3 of them act as Wilds that appear only on the 3 central reels. It seems that nobody is willing to deal with this gang.

Even the sheriff and the marshal left their guns and badges and fled the city because they were scared for their lives. Their badges are used as Scatters that trigger additional features. In the saloon, you will find dynamite, gold bars, money bags, horseshoes, and guns.

How to Play Tombstone: No Mercy

If you play your cards right, you might survive in this deadly saloon. My advice is that you stay true to the rules of the game. The Nolimit City product is played on 5 reels, with a 2-3-3-3-2 formation. It offers 108 ways to win and pays left to right, beginning from the far-left reel.

Land at least 3 matching icons on a payline to win a payout. Betting starts at $0.10 per spin. The highest wager is $100. Tombstone: No Mercy is a high-variance pokie with an RTP of 96.05% and a max payout of 16,480x.

Features in Tombstone: No Mercy

All features that are incorporated in the original Tombstone pokie machine found their place in Tombstone: No Mercy. Outlaw Wilds, Justice Spins, Gunslinger Spins, and Bounty Spins are waiting for you.

The addition is the two xBet options, the Buy feature and the No Mercy feature. So, it is not that much different from the original game, eh?

Outlaw Wilds

As said, the 3 bandits represent Wilds that are 3-cell high. Each time they land on any of the 3 central reels, they will nudge until they are fully visible and cover the entire reel. For each nudge, Wilds gain a 1x multiplier.

I had plenty of fun with Outlaw Wilds in the base game. They appeared quite often and brought me decent payouts. The biggest was 72x.

Justice Spins

Sheriff Badge Scatter appears on reel 1. As for the Marshal Badge Scatter, it lands on reel 5. Once both of them are on the grid at the same time, you trigger Justice Spins. This will get you 3 free spins with sticky Outlaw Wilds.

When a Wild lands, it nudges to cover the entire reel. Then, it carries the gained win multiplier and remains locked until the feature ends. I triggered the feature a couple of times. On both occasions, my winnings were slim. The most I got was 24x.

Gunslinger Spins

With 3 Dollar Scatters on the reels, you trigger the Gunslinger Spins feature. It will reward you with 10 free spins with the increasing win multiplier. Each time the Outlaw Wild nudges, it increases the win multiplier by 1x. The win multiplier is present until the end of the feature.

I had much more luck with Gunslinger Spins. I triggered them 4 times and loads of Outlaw Wilds appeared on the reels. The biggest win multiplier I got was 20x, while the biggest win was around 1,800x.

Bounty Spins

With 3 Dollar Scatters, 1 Sheriff Badge, and 1 Marshal Badge on the reels, you trigger the Bounty Spins feature. This will get you 12 free spins with sticky Outlaw Wilds and the increasing win multiplier. So, a combination of Gunslinger Spins and Justice Spins.

I triggered the feature just once but I was generously rewarded for my trouble. I failed to mention that during free spins you get 1 extra free spins for each Scatter landed, and 3 additional free spins for 2 extra Scatters. I finished the round with 20 free spins and a max payout of around 2,100x.

Buy feature

If you don’t want to wait for any of the features to be triggered traditionally, you can always buy them. Depending on the selected feature, you will pay different prices, up to 950x.

Just to prove my point, I purchased the most expensive option. As I presumed, my total win was 21.6x the bet. Not bad for a price of 950x, eh?

xBet feature

There are 2 xBet options you can use. For 2x the bet, you can get either a Scatter or a Wild guaranteed on every spin. For a price of 5x the bet, you are guaranteed an Outlaw Wild on either reels 2, 3, or 4.

No Mercy

When you reach the max win of 16,480x the bet, the No Mercy feature is triggered. This means that the game round you are playing will end immediately. Unfortunately, I have never triggered this feature.

My Takeaway

I love the original Tombstone pokie machine and I was extremely happy when I heard that Nolimit City had released the third pokie in the Tombstone series. The thing that I like the most about the 2024 release is that it is almost the same as the original.

Also, that is the thing that I hate the most about this game. There are way too many similarities between the two pokies. If it weren’t for the xBet options and the Buy feature, I would think that Nolimit City released the same slot all over again.

I love the features from the original Tombstone and I am happy that they kept all of them in the sequel. However, I am not that fond of the new features. I am against both the options to buy features or to enhance your chances of triggering features by paying more.

Even though it comes with a higher max payout than the first Tombstone, the 2024 release has a somewhat lower RTP and a higher volatility. I will rate Tombstone No Mercy 9.0.

Pros

  • imgMax win 16,480x
  • imgLoads of extras
  • imgAmazing visuals

Cons

  • imgSimilar to the original
  • imgLower RTP than in the original pokie
