Visa is expanding its FinTech footprint in Brazil by launching a new company called Visa Conecta. By the end of 2025, Brazilian players will be able to complete Visa casino payments directly from their bank accounts without leaving the casino page.
Initially, the new company will act as a Pix payment initiator before branching off as a separate payment institution. The initial ITP approval from Brazil’s Central Bank is expected to arrive by November 2025. However, Visa plans to leverage its partnership with Celcoin and start operations as early as September.
The move to enter the Brazilian FinTech market was an easy choice for Visa, prompted by the February 2025 launch of the no-redirect Pix payment flow which streamlines the casino experience by allowing fast, one-click payments.
Previously, players were required to jump through multiple hoops, such as scanning the QR code and opening their bank app. With no-redirect Pix payment powered by Visa Conecta, they won’t have to leave their favourite casino (or e-commerce site) to make a payment.
Visa Conecta positions Visa proper as a major player in the FinTech space. More than just a card company, Visa has the potential to reshape open finance and usher in new levels of casino experience in Brazil.
It’s no wonder that Visa chose Brazil to stake its FinTech credentials. Brazil is one of the fastest-growing iGaming and e-commerce markets globally, with 42 million unique players and counting.
The new era of regulation came into effect on January 1, 2025, and leading software providers have already secured the official certification needed to enter the market.
